General CommentAlthough this appears on Roxy's third studio album, it was the first song Ferry diaprepjurmaitasfamaggeiconsebiwhe.coinfo he needed to establish himself before he felt brave enough to commit it to vinyl. Superb, and very strange. Nothing like this could be accepted by a modern band's record company today.

Roxy Music began to reign in its unsettling quirky art rock on Stranded the bands third album In absense of keyboardist/arranger Brain Eno vocalist Bryan Ferry assumes full control of Roxy Musics musical direction moving toward a less overtly experimental yet still progressive and eccentric style Ferry still sings in a campstyled croon yet his songwriting is sharper and more nuanced here as is conveyed by the enigmatic Psalm and the multipart Mother of Pearl Stranded .

Still, Stranded is a classic, and the highs of the first few Roxy Music albums are jaw-dropping, so it's a 3/5 for the band. Even though I absolutely, completely do not find the RM cover models attractive (with the exception of the sleek and basically tasteful cover of Stranded, and the javelinists of Flesh and Blood).Missing: Psalm.

Mar 31,  · To wit, Roxy Music’s best album is NOT one of the fetishized Eno-era LPs, or the critically acclaimed albums that followed, or even the much-beloved late-period Avalon. No, Roxy Music’s best LP is—prepare to go apoplectic, Roxy lovers—’s live Viva! Roxy Music. There, I said diaprepjurmaitasfamaggeiconsebiwhe.coinfog: Psalm.
